UNION STREET GALLERY FEBRUARY 26 – MARCH 29, 2014 Self portraits do not have to be a true depiction of the self. In art we have the creative license to make ourselves into anyone we want to be. Artists from around the nation are invited to submit self portraits that explore alter egos, secret identities, or fictional personas created to hide behind or act out fantasies. Art might depict figures donning masks, disguises or costumes, a social media persona, or the portrait of who we really want to be but can’t.
